2020 Summer Camp wellness
policies and procedures

The 2020 Summer Soccer camps will be held at Commodore Perry Field.  The times vary, so check the registration times to be sure.  All camps run Monday through Friday. To help ensure everyone's health and safety, we (TMYSB) have enacted the following policies and procedures for the camp.
  • Participants will be dropped off at Commodore Perry Field, no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of camp, please). Only the camp participants and staff are allowed on the field. Drivers should wait in their cars until their child is cleared to play via:

    • Participants will be given daily no-contact temperature checks. Anyone with a temp of 100 or higher will not be permitted to play (as per CDC recommendations that the TMYSB organization has adopted).  TMYSB has purchased no-contact thermometers to enable the daily checks.

    • Participants will be asked a short list of health questions (anyone in your house have COVID, etc.)

  • Participants must bring a mask for use on the "sidelines" when not actively playing on the field. This includes check-in time, break/snack time, and while waiting for pick-up following the camp.  Masks will not be required when on the fields during skills training.

  • Participants must bring their own soccer balls, snacks, and water.  All items should be labeled clearly, so that everyone knows whose items are whose. Sharing of water, soccer balls and masks will not be permitted. All items left at the field will be discarded.

  • The preferred soccer ball size for your child depends on their age:  11 and under: size 4 ball,  over 11 years: size 5 ball

  • During the camp there will be no contact with other players and the coaching staff will use their best efforts to maintain proper distancing. Participants will be doing skills-based training (no scrimmages this year) and strongly encouraged to be 6 feet apart at all times.  Please discuss this with your child and ensure that they understand that we expect them to comply with this at all times, including during breaks!  Shin guards are not necessary, as there will be no scrimmages.

  • TMYSB has purchased hand sanitizer for use during the camp.

  • We expect to be breaking up the campers by similar age groups for training and also to help maintain overall social distancing.

  • Parents / guardians are asked not to remain at the field during the camp, but are asked to arrive for drop off and pick up promptly (camp times vary, please be sure you know your start and end times!).

  • Participants of the camp will need to be dismissed one-by-one from the camp for pick up at the conclusion of the camp in order to maintain social distancing.
