About Us
It is the vision of Mahwah Youth Soccer to provide the youth of Mahwah with the opportunity to participate in recreational soccer. Mahwah Youth Soccer emphasizes having FUN while providing instruction on basic soccer skills, structured team play, sportsmanship, character building, leadership and a sense of fair play. We strive to create an environment in which players can reach their full potential and achieve the self-confidence and positive self-esteem necessary to be successful both on and off the soccer field.
Mahwah's Home of Recreational Soccer
TMYSB recreational soccer is a family oriented program that provides everyone (regardless of ability) the opportunity to play organized soccer. The recreational program focuses on the development of the player in a fun and inclusive environment.
TMYSB provides recreational soccer for both boys and girls ages 4-14 (Pre-K thru 8th Grade) in the fall. The TMYSB recreation program serves approximately 500 children from the town of Mahwah. The league starts shortly after Labor Day and runs into November. You will be contacted by the commissioner and your child's coach as soon as rosters are set (some time in August). Practices are typically once a week and games are on the weekend.
Kindergartner through 3rd grader play in the town among their age appropriate peers. 3rd through 8th graders play in a regional rec travel league. Mahwah teams in those leagues will play against other Bergen County towns throughout the season. Our teams will play home games on fields in Mahwah and away games at various locations throughout Bergen County in close proximity.

Principles of Recreational Soccer
- Everyone Plays - Players are assigned to teams regardless of their ability or experience & play in every game. Players can expect to receive equal playing time irrespective of their ability.
- Balanced Teams - Players are placed on teams in order to create teams of equal strength to provide for an enjoyable season for all.
- Open Registration - All youth in the town of Mahwah are entitled to register & play, subject to roster availability and sufficient adult volunteer help. Players who register by August 1st are guaranteed a roster position on a team.
- Youth Soccer is for the Players - Youth soccer exists for the enjoyment of the player and it's important that players not only develop basic soccer skills, but have FUN while doing it.
